Palette Swap
(April 2025)
Made in Unity
Platform: PC

Palette Swap was my third game project. The game follows your character traveling through different portals and collecting gems in order to restore the color lost in each world.
I focused on the parkour mechanics of the game, which included squashing (crouching), gliding, and grappling while also assisting in level progression (collecting the required paint buckets in order to collect the gem).
Unfortunately, the game lacks a lot of quality of life elements and a fully polished experience due to tight scheduling. However, the project was still a great opportunity for me to explore coding unique movement mechanics that dynamically changed the character.
Here is the script that handles the functionality of the player's grapple, which pulls a player towards a designated target. During development, I faced many challenges with warping the player body towards a target, including stretching the arm to take full advantage of the rubber hose theme. Despite this, the grappling turned out decent, servicing the game mechanic well.
